How to Install WordPress Online Using Softaculous App Installer

The moment your hosting plan is active, you can create and customize a website of your choice. Using Softaculous App Installer, you can install WordPress online seamlessly.

To install WordPress using Softaculous, follow the steps below:

1 – Log in to your cPanel account

2 – Click on “WordPress Manager by Softaculous”

3 – Click on Install

4 – On this page, fill the details to suite your custom WordPress installation

  • Select the domain you want to install WordPress for
  • Choose the protocol you want to use. It is advisable to use https://  protocol
  • In Directory field allows you to specify the root folder for WordPress installation. By default, this field is empty, and it allows installing WordPress on yourdomain.com directly. If you wish to install it to a subfolder, like yourdomain.com/product, simply type “product” in this field.
  • Select the WordPress version you want to install
  • Enter admin credentials of your choice and be sure to store it in a safe place

5 – Scroll down and click on the Advanced Options

  • Database Name can be left default. However for security reason(s), it is preferable to change it
  • Table Prefix can also be left default but for security purpose(s), it is advisable to change it.
  • Select your preferred Automated backup frequency
  • Backup location should be left as “Default” otherwise you can choose a local folder.
  • Selecting a Theme is not necessary as the default theme will be installed automatically

6 – Go through the page briefly and be sure all settings are correct. Proceed to click on Install button and wait for the installation to be completed.

7 – You have successfully installed WordPress. Your website is ready to be customized.
