This article, on the other hand, is for individuals who require a step-by-step guide on how to set up Google custom MX records in their cPanel account.
1- Go to your cPanel dashboard and use the top right search box to look for Zone Editor.
2- Once the Zone Editor opens, find the domain that you wish to install the Google MX record to. Then click on Manage.
3- You will then see the list of all of your DNS records. In this case, go ahead and filter the records by clicking the MX tab.
4- You can edit the existing MX record to be the first Google MX record and set the value as ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM, as shown on the screenshot below.
5- Next you can add 4 more MX records and assign each of them to ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM (priority 5), ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM (priority 5), ALT3.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM (priority 10), ALT4.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM (priority 10). The name field should remain your domain name.
6- This should be the final look of your MX records in your cPanel Zone Editor.
7- After you’ve sorted out the MX records, you’ll need to make sure that all emails for your domain are directed to an external server rather than the local server. So, in the top right search field, type “Email Routing” and select the option that appears.
8- Next select the correct domain on the drop down menu and then make sure to set the Remote Mail Exchanger and click the Change button.
